Covid-19
The Hall is now fully open for bookings under current guidelines
It is more important than ever that vulnerable people, those who feel more cautious and those have suffered as a result of isolation during the last two years feel confident using village and community halls, in order to improve mental health and wellbeing. This is particularly important for their usual, regular activities.
Consequently we encourage users to follow the principles below.
- People should stay at home if unwell.
- Those who have recently had COVID-19 should not attend the hall until either a week has passed and they no longer have a temperature or they have twnegative lateral flow tests on days 5 and 6. They should inform their close contacts and avoid contact with anyone in an at risk group. Contacts of people with COVID-19 are asked to take extra care, following general guidance on safer behaviours. Routine contact tracing ends on 24th February.
- Let fresh air in if meeting indoors. Opening a window for ten minutes helps. (This has also been shown to reduce risk of catching other airborne diseasessuch as flu).
- Continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, especially where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet and when rates of transmission are high.
- Clean your hands often, avoid touching your face, nose or eyes. “Catch it, bin it, Kill it”.
- Maintain social distancing as far as possible from anyone you do not have regular contact with. Respect the fact that others may wish to take a more cautious approach.
- If a more crowded event is likely to take place, eg a wedding reception with dancing, hirers can be encouraged to ask everyone to take a lateral flow test beforehand, as recommended in the UK Government Coronavirus “How to Stay Safe” guidance.
Becoming Covid-19 Secure
We completed one part of our plan for becoming Covid-19 Secure – a deep clean of the entire Village Hall – in August 2020. This included:
- cleaning of all touchpoints, such as door and cupboard handles
- use of non-allergenic products that provide a short-term barrier against transmission of viruses
- thorough cleaning of all tables and chairs
PLEASE HELP KEEP VULNERABLE USERS of THIS HALL SAFE from COVID
- Please do not enter if you or anyone in your household is unwell or has COVID-19 symptoms, or have tested positive and their recommended self -isolation is not complete.
- Maintain social distancing as far as possible from anyone you do not have regular contact with. Respect those who may be cautious.
- Use hand sanitiser or soap. Clean your hands often. Keep surfaces clean.
- Please wear face coverings in confined areas (eg toilets, corridors) and at a busy or crowded event.
- Catch it, Bin it, Kill it”. Avoid touching your face, nose, or eyes. Put tissues into one of the bins or rubbish bags provided, then wash your hands.
- Open windows for ventilation. Close doors and windows on leaving.
- "If you develop COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours of visiting these premises please take a COVID-19 test and inform NHS if positive.

There’s additional signage around the Hall – instructional and behavioural – to help us meet the latest regulations. There is also a sanitiser station available along with Covid-19 cleaning boxes for each area.
Safety of the committee
We will be following all relevant guidance to ensure that any of our volunteers working at the Hall in any capacity remain safe. Depending on the guidance in place at the time, this may include the use of PPE and adherence to social distancing.
Thank you for your understanding
We know this is a challenging time for everyone. We want to make it easy for you to come back to the Hall. The committee is volunteer-run, so we ask for your patience and understanding if we can’t answer any questions you may have immediately.
